Home!!! Resting on Mommy tummy after breastfeeding!!!
Here is a video of Evan when I first got to hold him right after birth. What a moment that was!
The first of many check-ups by the nurses. Evan was given his shots and measured. He was 20 3/4 inches long.

Evan weighed 6 lbs. 15 oz. at birth, but has lost a little bit of weight since then, which is normal.

Labor pains and Evan's arrival!!!

Labor began to get pretty rough, so Jenni decided to request an epidural to alleviate the pain - it was well worth it! Baby Evan was in a little bit of distress during the middle part of labor (his heart rate would keep going down with each contraction), so Jenni was given extra oxygen. Turned out that Evan had his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck, but all turned out good:)

Finally, 14 hours after Jenni's water broke - at 3:34 p.m. on December 21, 2009, our son, Evan Henry, arrived!!! He is the most handsome baby in the maternity unit!

2:00 AM. Getting ready to go to the hospital!

Early in the morning of Dec. 21st, Jenni's water broke, so we hurried to get things ready. Even though Evan was supposed to be due January 11th, 2010, we were planning on having Jenni induced Dec. 30th because of her high blood pressure, but God had different plans. He answered our prayers by addressing our fears about whether we should induce or not. He took our choice out of our hands by having Jenni go into spontaneous labor! And we couldn't have been happier or more relieved!!!

7 months pregnant!!!

Hello, its me again. Here I am at 7 months prego, I must say my belly has grown quite a lot this last month. Here's a salute and a thanks to Gracia for the cute prego clothes. My mom complained on my last blog entry that there were no naked belly pictures so here ya go Mom:)

Baby is now a little over 2 lbs and over 14 inches long. Hard to believe we will be meeting him in 3 months!!! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Hellerstedt for the beautiful crib, changing table and mattress. We love 'em!! And thank you Great Grandma Youngman for the crib set-its all really cute. We haven't put them on yet because we don't want naughty kitty to get them dirty in case he sneaks in the crib when we aren't looking. Bad Kitty !! He is very curious of all the new baby equipment in his house.

Jodi, had me another beautiful niece on Oct 11, 2009!! I can't wait for all of them to meet each other!!! Way to Go JODI!!!
I'm excited because my Mommy will be coming out to Portland for 2 weeks on Oct 31st!!! I can't wait!!!!
Signing out,
Prego woman

6 months

Well, here I am 6 months pregnant. Baby is much more active and kicking even more. It feels like sometimes when I lay on my side i must be squishing him because all of a sudden he is kicking and squirming away until i change positions! It's hard to believe this is the last month of my 2nd trimester! I can't wait to meet him, but I am savoring the peace and quiet knowing once baby arrives all will change.
It has been quiet the dramatic month I must say. Anthony and I are learning everyday to trust the LORD with all details of our lives. Like for example when the water main in your apartment breaks and floods you apartment. Praise the Lord that nothing was seriously damaged. Just a lot of floating cat food and kitty liter-yuck!

Kicker

On Monday 9/14 I had another ob apt. I am now 23 weeks. The doctor said everything looks good. He started by feeling the uterus which is just above my belly button and said baby is about a pound. Then we listened to baby heart beat, which is nice and strong but apparently baby had enough because he kicked really hard and the Dr. stated laughing and said, " OK I'll leave you alone" and then looked at me and said "That was a really hard kick did that hurt?" I just laughed. That's our boy already practicing his martial arts.

Your pregnancy: 23 weeks

How your baby's growing:

Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.

Well, I had my 19 week ultra sound, it is amazing to see life growing inside of me. A child that the Lord has given me to cherish and to love. The ultrasound took about an hour as they took pictures and measured every aspect of our baby. The pictures are of his head and leg. It's incredible to think that the Lord watches each baby develop in the womb as He knits each life together. I just thought of Psalm 139 that, He knows my child in my womb. How great the care Jesus takes in life. I had tears of seeing this life growing inside of me and how much the Lord loves him. And yes, we are having a baby BOY!!!!

Night Light

Last week the weather reached record highs of 107 degrees, which when you live on the third floor of an apartment without air conditioning and are 16 weeks pregnant is well....craptastic! My in-laws had a small box air conditioner that they let us borrow( THANK YOU) but we-I was afraid to put it in our bedroom for fear that it might fall and kill a kid or some terrible thing like that. So instead we put it in our dining room window that has a balcony outside of it. The only problem was we have vaulted ceiling in our living room, dining room and kitchen so make the poor little air conditioner a little (a lot) less effective. Yet still 80 degress in the apartment is much better than 91 degrees. We moved our mattress into the living room and all the fans too and had ourself a little camp out. The only problem is with all the furniture moved trying to get to the bathroom is a bit more challenging. So one night I managed to make it to the bathroom for my nightly gotta pee again event and lo and behold ooops i stepped in the cat food dish knocked the water bowl over and managed to fall into the corner of the wall of course hitting my belly first. I was okay just a little scared and also scared the crap out of my poor husband who was fast asleep. So the moral of the story, trying to pretend like your blind and find your way to the toilet seat is not a good idea when you're pregnant!

Hmmm

Ok for those who will be reading this be kind, grammar and speling are not my strong points. So I thought it might be nice for all you folks way far far way from me to know what's going on in my life since a lot is changing. Well for starter as most of you know I am now 14 weeks pregnant. The funny thing is that everyone told me that once I was off birth control it would take 3-6 months to get pregnant. Ha! Actually 2 weeks later I was pregnant and found out on Anthony's birthday!!! Happy Birthday to Anthony. The fun thing was is that my parents were flying in for Anthony's graduation so we told both our parent graduation night! What a fun night! May 18th I saw what looked like a little piece of rice in a little black box-so there the baby was only 6 weeks old, hard to believe! Well I definitely believe it now. I had to try really hard not to puke at work last night because of food smells! Food smells are what make me sick not all the other lovely smells at work, that make me laugh! Hmmm maybe someday I will figure out how to put picture on this blog!
